About Madelaine
Madelaine In The Wild began as a postgraduate goal, reconciling an early love of writing with newly acquired science communication skills. I've been fortunate to experience some of the very best of British wildlife, from common dolphin superpods in the Inner Hebrides to a metropolis of seabirds on East Yorkshire's steeped coastline. Now, I'd like to share it.

My Story
Studying at the University of Sheffield, I received a BSc in Zoology, followed by a MSc in Science Communication. My passion for the natural world and writing began long before my studies; during sixth form, I created a blog detailing my experiences with nature and interviewing conservationists, and in doing so, discovered a love for storytelling. I have also previously been Editor at Wild Magazine, a multi-university sustainability publication for young people, leading a team of volunteers to commission and produce environmental content.

As a naturalist and science communicator, I am interested in the intersections between humans and wildlife, particularly large carnivores. I now work as a Guide and Informal Educator at a BIAZA-accredited aquarium, and am passionate about public engagement with science and conservation.
